Rebel Barbers BLACKHAWKS finish first!
The Senior division season ended Thursday with extra time required in an OT thriller. The Blackhawks and Stars were scoreless after the first period, before the Blackhawks Matthew Sacchetti broke the tie early in the second period. With the Stars outshooting the Blackhawks throughout the game, late in the third period Stars Christian Dicasmirro was finally able to beat Blackhawks goalie Agustin Castillo-Arredondo to tie the game 1-1. A fourth and deciding period was required but less than 1 minute into overtime the game winner was scored by Blackhawks Kiera Katt-Carlson to seal the victory for the Blackhawks in the Championship Final.
The Consolation final took place Tuesday between the Senators and Leafs. Senators Justin Blais was able to get the Senators out to a quick start mid-way through the first period before the Leafs Reid Beaman late in the first was able to tie the game at 1. Senators Justin Blais fired his second of the night off the post shortly after which ended up being the game winner. Senators Jackson Dawson and Kyler Susan also found the back of the net as the Leafs continued to fire shot after shot at the Senators net, but Cayden McCallen turned everything else away to secure bronze.
The Northwood Senior Championship Final had ~150 fans in attendance which was great to see as another Northwood season came to an end. Within the Senior division, all five teams were competitive, the Predators one goal away from finishing in the final four, the Stars in the Championship game, the Senators Consolation and Holiday Classic Champs, the Leafs Regular Season Champions, and the Blackhawks Playoff Champions! Congratulations to all the teams, players, coaches, managers, and parents for cheering loud & being proud. Another showcase of great goals, defensive plays, outstanding goaltending, and many celebrations!
