Sens first line nets four...In our first game as a team I saw lots of possibilities. With only one half ice practice we are still in the early stages of coming together as a team. Even the coaches have never worked together so everything is new.
As the game went on kids started getting together and figuring out where each other were rather than 4 chasing the puck it got down to 2 or 3. We'll see 1 chasing and the others staying closer to their positions before long.
The Sens opened the scoring at 7:46 of the 2nd period. They got another one right after (the siren) and we were biting our tongues on the bench. Hard to start asking for the refs to talk about it when there are 4 of them out there. The mentors only help and can't change the calls.
Our first goal of the season came on a nifty pass from behind the net. Mason Flye (8) passed to his older brother in front and Lucas (7) made no mistake banging it in. Their dad said after that was a total surprise.
We tied the game late in the 2nd as Jaykown Wapoose (16) scored with an assist from Zach Winter (34). The Sens took the lead again late in the second with another first line goal.
Jaykown scored his second of the game early in the third period but the Sens first line struck again near the end of their last shift. We pulled goalie Jerell Wapoose (45), held the Sens in their end and got a few shots but couldn't find the back of the net.
