Ron first came to Northwood in 1990 when his oldest son Michael began playing hockey. He served as the team manager for the Beavers that first year. He recalls having cases of frozen juice in the trunk of his car for the entire winter. The next season saw him behind the bench as an assistant coach. A season of coaching and he realized he was spoiling Michael's fun at games. He got involved in the administration of the league first as the statistician, then secretary and finally became president in 1995.
